I am Don Houston Jr. I am 46 years old and I run DJ's Computer Services in Pahrump, NV. I was born with Cerebral Palsy. I got my first computer in 1986-87, an Apple IIe. Back then, the Oregon Trail was popular for kids. Around 1990 my parents purchased a Commodore 64 / IBM compatible computer, which taught me a little about command prompts. Little did I know that those would be the first building blocks on my journey into the Information Technology sector.

That sign sat on my freshman year math teacher's podium, and for me, that is the IT sector. During my sophomore and junior years in high school, I took a class on video production. I learned how to create storyboards, film, and edit raw footage into something clean and polished. It was during this time that I met and became friends with someone I have looked up to ever since. Someone who took the time to teach what many thought was impossible. My mentor and good friend, Mike Larios. Mike taught me a lot about computers and took the time to show me how to do things. Mike and I remain friends and we connect all the time.

After high school, I wanted to get a degree in IT, and while that journey has been longer than what most people would take, I am proud to say that at the end of September 2026, I will receive my Master of Information Systems from the University of Phoenix, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and on track for Summa Cum Laude honors. I also graduated Magna Cum Laude with my bachelor's degree.

I opened DJ's Computer Services because I have a passion for helping people and a passion for technology, and by opening my business I can achieve both. I do not give up on large problems. I tackle them head on. I pride myself on being honest and upfront with all my customers. If they have questions, it is my job to make sure those are answered. I provide work notes and an easy to read invoice to all my clients. It does not matter if you are a stay at home mom or a top level executive, I take the time to explain things so that people understand what is going on and how I am fixing it. I even offer after hours service so that if your systems go down, I can get them up as quickly as possible.
